Tropicana’s Taste of the Quarter Raises Over $23,000 to Benefit United Way



ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (August 25, 2016) — Amid the excitement of The Tropicana Atlantic City, 860 guests mixed, mingled, sampled and savored at the ninth annual Taste of the Quarter event on Monday, August 22, 2016. While attendees indulged in a spectacular array of culinary and beverage offerings, the evening raised over $23,000 benefiting United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey (UWGPSNJ) in Atlantic County.

“What a wonderful evening of success we had for this year’s 9th annual Taste of the Quarter,” said Steve Callender, General Manager for Tropicana, and United Way Board Member. “We are so grateful to everyone who organized, volunteered, and supported this fantastic event raising over $23,000 for United Way.”

Participants who bought a $25 advance ticket or a $30 ticket at the door were given samples from more than 25 Tropicana dining destinations including Carmine’s, The Palm, Rí Rá Irish Pub, Cuba Libre, FIN, and Chickie’s & Pete’s Crab House and Sports Bar. On-air personalities included Eddie Davis from Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG, Joe Kelly from Cat Country 107.3 and Heather DeLuca from SoJO 104.9 emceed the event along with special appearances by local celebrities and dignitaries added to the celebratory ambiance.

“Tropicana’s Taste of the Quarter is more than an enjoyable night out – it’s the perfect example that when we come together, we do more,” said Jim Cawley, United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey’s President and CEO. “Thanks to everyone involved, from Tropicana management, restaurant staff, celebrity chefs and attendees, United Way is in a better position to continue advance our work in improving Education, Income and Health, as well as providing Basic Needs supports when our residents need them most.”
