Tropicana Presents The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band, August 29

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (July15, 2014) — The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band will bring their genre-defining, blues-infused rock n’ roll to Tropicana Casino & Resort on Friday, August 29, 2014. The celebrated guitar-slinger and his band will take the stage at 9 p.m. in the Tropicana Showroom.

Two decades into a recording career that began when he was 16, Kenny Wayne Shepherd has built an enviable resume as an accomplished recording artist, a riveting live performer and one of the most talented and distinctive guitarists of his generation. Shepherd has sold millions of albums worldwide, received five Grammy® nominations and two Billboard Music Awards.

He has also emerged as one of the contemporary blues world’s leading lights, helping to spearhead a widespread revival of interest in the blues. His work has earned a pair of Orville H. Gibson awards, the Blues Foundation’s Keeping the Blues Alive award and two Blues Music awards. He’s charted six #1 blues albums in addition to a string of hit mainstream rock singles including “Slow Ride,” “Somehow, Somewhere, Someway,” and the #1 single “Blue on Black.”

Shepherd and his band—singer Noah Hunt, drummer Chris Layton, bassist Tony Franklin, and keyboardist Riley Osbourn— recently cut 22 songs for their new album Goin’ Home. His most personal project to date, Goin’ Home was recorded in an 11-day whirlwind in Shepherd’s hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana.
