Tropicana Presents Grand Funk Railroad

Tropicana Presents Grand Funk Railroad

American blues rock band performs May 30

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (January 12, 2015) — In celebration of a 45 year milestone, Grand Funk Railroad is coming to your town to help you party down. Known as “The American Band,” this high-energy five-piece group will play live at 8 p.m. in the Tropicana Showroom on Saturday, May 30, 2015.

Grand Funk Railroad features founding members Don Brewer and Mel Schacher, joined by veterans Max Carl of 38 Special, Bruce Kulick of KISS and keyboardist Tim Cashion who played with Robert Palmer as well as Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.

The fact that Grand Funk’s legacy still reigns over the Classic Rock landscape forty five years after its 1969 birth in Flint, Michigan is a testament to the group’s influence and staying power. Mega-hits “We’re An American Band,” “I’m Your Captain/Closer to Home,” “Locomotion,” and “Some Kind Of Wonderful” still receive continuous airplay on Classic Rock radio.

The group’s widespread appeal is also evident in its prestigious recording achievements. Over their career, Grand Funk has had 19 charted singles, eight Top 40 hits and two #1 singles. The group has now accumulated 13 gold and ten platinum records with record sales in excess of 25 million copies sold worldwide.

Tickets to see Grand Funk Railroad at Tropicana are $32, $37 and $42. Tickets are available beginning Janury 16th through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com or via phone at 1.800.736.1420, or at the Tropicana Box Office.
