Tropicana Launches Five All-New Multimedia Light and Sound Shows

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (May 23, 2016) With $40 million in improvements, no one does MORE better than Tropicana Atlantic City! As part of its recent renovations, Tropicana has partnered with world renowned Moment Factory to unveil five new and improved fantasy themed Multimedia Light and Sound Shows on the Boardwalk this Memorial Day Weekend.

“These new shows will elevate the guest experience,” says Steve Callender, General Manager of Tropicana Atlantic City. “From the colorful imagery to the original soundtrack, each show has a very different appeal and will take your senses for a ride.”

Nautical Themed Show

The nautical themed show follows a young sailor in his journey through the open seas. His tattoos are a diary of his experiences- each one marking a new chapter and painting a colorful story of his life.

The graphics, inspired by American vintage tattoo styles, were all hand-drawn before being animated. The music was composed by Noia and is inspired by shanty song and American surf rock.

Magic Themed Show

This universe is one grand optical illusion, as objects and silhouettes manipulate your senses.  Immerse yourself as the illusionist transforms objects through a repertoire of seemingly impossible optical and stage illusions.

The musical introduction was inspired by the Golden Age of magic, Hollywood and early television. Parts of this song are later transformed into an electronic UK garage song featuring human beat-boxing, multiple layers of delays and distortion and SFX punches to highlight specific actions onscreen.

Atlantic City Themed Show

Join this grand celebration as we pay homage to the world’s playground, Atlantic City. During the annual air show, a histrionic character parachutes down to the beach. Follow him on a curious journey along the Atlantic City Boardwalk. From sand and sun to retro cabaret, there is always another untapped side of AC to be discovered.

This music score was inspired by the rhythm and tones of the 1960s with a nod to “The Twist” by Chubby Checker. Most parts were recorded live in studio using percussion instruments and guitars.

Nature Themed Show

The common thread weaving through this show is nature. Follow a magical sprite-like light on its journey from dawn until dusk, through the abyss of the deepest ocean to a starry night sky. Along the way, encounter animals in their natural habitats and discover their playful and curious sides.

Each wild animal is given life via animation as well as the sounds of specific instruments in the orchestra. The music for this show was inspired in part by the films Interstellar and Finding Nemo.

Pinball Themed Show

Get lost in this futuristic pinball game of lights, sound effects and movement. As the mysterious player reaches new levels, the machine reveals deeper worlds within. With each ball drop, a new layer of complex music is unleashed, building the soundtrack’s intensity level after level. The laws of physics do not apply in an action-filled string of surprises that will leave you guessing.

The soundtrack to this show starts with a nod to electronic retro video game music and finishes with contemporary dubstep mayhem.

Tropicana’s Multimedia Light and Sound Show plays on the Boardwalk daily beginning at dusk featuring a multitude of high energy themes choreographed to music that are ever changing, ensuring ample variety for visitors. The daily show is free and is visible to guests from as far away as Arkansas & the Boardwalk and the City of Ventnor.
