From turkeys to tickets, Tropicana supports the community
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (November 19, 2014) — Each year Tropicana Casino & Resort commits significant financial support and product donations to help make a difference in people’s lives. Tropicana’s community giving initiatives are very diverse, benefitting youth development, health-based organizations, and families in need.
A Turkey for Every Table
To combat hunger in New Jersey, Tropicana will continue its annual Thanksgiving tradition of turkey donations. The company will donate 200 turkeys to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey. Tropicana is also giving 50 turkey breasts to the Salvation Army.
Toys For Kids
Stop by the Official Holiday Tree Lighting on Monday, November 24 and visit with volunteers from the Atlantic County Toys For Kids Program. Drop off a new, unwrapped toy and help make a child’s Christmas wish come true!
Special Performance of Holiday Extravaganza for Charitable Workers
Tropicana has dedicated the Friday, December 5, 2014 performance of Holiday Extravaganza, a lavish holiday-themed song and dance show, to charity. The company is giving complimentary tickets to the following non-profit groups as thanks for their ongoing efforts to strengthen and enrich the community: The Salvation Army; Covenant House; Community Food Bank of New Jersey; Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City; Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA); Alcove Center; Gilda’s Club South Jersey; South Jersey AIDS Alliance; United Way; ARC of Atlantic County; Greater Atlantic City GLBT Alliance; Literacy Volunteers Association; AtlantiCare Rotary Club and Warfighter Sports, which provides adaptive sports to wounded warriors free of cost, to name a few.
Boogie Nights Raises Fun and Funds Year-Round
Retro nightclub Boogie Nights has become a popular fundraising venue and regularly hosts Friday benefits for local non-profit organizations. Past fundraising benefits include: Dance Forum South Competition Dance Team in October 2014, Absegami Booster Club on January 24, 2014 and August 15, Miller School on February 7, 2014, Swift Parents Club on March 14, 2014, S.H.E Inspire on March 28, 2014, Sand Shark 13-U Baseball on March 8, 2014, AtlantiCare Heart Walk on May 9, 2014, Highland Academy on May 16, 2014, and the Absegami girls basketball team on September 26, 2014. Upcoming events include Absegami Booster Club on January 23, 2015, and Miller Elementary School and Sand Shark 13-U Baseball on Friday, March 6, 2015. Additionally, for the entire month of November, bring a can of food to Boogie Nights on a Friday night and get free admission! Donations received benefit the Atlantic City Rescue Mission.
