Tropicana Atlantic City Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (August 30, 2018) – October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Tropicana Atlantic City is joining the cause by going pink and hosting special events and promotions to increase awareness and benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
Tony Rodio, President and CEO, Tropicana Entertainment, is leading the cause through his participation in the Society’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign. As a Real Men Wear Pink candidate, Rodio is committed to raising awareness and funds for breast cancer.
“According to the American Institute for Cancer Research, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime,” Rodio said. “Our observance is one small gesture to honor those affected by breast cancer and to help the Society save lives through early detection and prevention, innovative breast cancer research, and patient support.”
Throughout the month, look for pink lights on Tropicana’s exterior, including the cupola atop the Havana Tower and every Tropicana fountain in support of the thousands of brave women in the region who have battled breast cancer. Tropicana will donate all coins tossed in the fountain during October to the American Cancer Society. Guests, visitors and employees will also see breast cancer awareness messages displayed on Tropicana’s iconic Multimedia Light and Sound Show located on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
Melissa Etheridge | Saturday, October 6
Singer-songwriter and breast cancer survivor, Melissa Etheridge, will take the stage at Tropicana’s Showroom on Saturday, October 6. Tropicana will donate a portion of ticket sales to the American Cancer Society. Prior to the show, the showroom will be lit pink. Tropicana will also share a personal video message from Etheridge on its social media accounts.
Beer & Whiskey Festival | Saturday, October 13
Tropicana will sell pink cookies during its annual Beer & Whiskey Festival Saturday, October 13. Proceeds from the bake sale will benefit the American Cancer Society.
Think Pink Thursdays
As part of Tropicana’s Thursday is the New Friday campaign, every Thursday throughout the month of October, guests who wear pink and post a social media photo using the hashtag #TropThinkPink will receive FREE admission to Boogie Nights and Kiss Kiss Nightclub. Guests must be in pink and post or show photo to receive offer.
Tropicana’s Partners in Pink
Tito’s Vodka – Tropicana is partnering with Tito’s Vodka to donate a portion of sales for every Tito’s drink sold at Boogie Nights, Chelsea Five Gastropub, Whiskey Five Bar, Olón, Okatshe, 10 North and Tango’s Lounge throughout the month.
Boogie Nights 70’s and 80’s Dance Club – Boogie Nights will donate the first hour of door sales every Thursday throughout October.
