Excitement has been running high around here, because the one-and-only Patti LaBelle is on tap to take the stage on Saturday, April 2, 2016. According to Tropicana’s entertainment manager, ticket sales have been through the roof.
That’s not surprising. With a career that spans five decades and even more musical genres, Patti has a universal appeal few artists can match. While fans know Patti LaBelle for hits like 1974’s “Lady Marmalade,” 1985’s “New Attitude,” and 1986’s “On My Own” with Michael McDonald, her contributions to the music world are just the beginning of the story.
As Tropicana gears up for the arrival of Patti and her fans, I thought I would share a few quick tidbits about this lovely legend that you may not have known.
