When we were kids, summer was a three-month long vacation filled with baseball games, sleepovers, carnivals, theme parks, ice cream, days at the beach and nights around bonfires gorging on s’mores.
But then we just had to go and grow up. Now those days of all play and no work are just a distant memory. Even on your days off, there are errands to run, grass to mow and home improvement projects to tackle.
It’s time to take back your summer. Tropicana Atlantic City is here to help. Here are ten ways to discover the joys of the season all over again.
10. Add some “Magique” to your life
American novelist Tom Robbins once said, “Using words to describe magic is like using a screwdriver to cut roast beef.” But we’ll try and describe this spectacular magic show all the same. Grand illusionists Kevin & Caruso create a fantastical world filled with incredible illusions, dazzling magic, hilarious antics and fun-filled fantasy for the whole family. Magique kicks off a summer-long run at Tropicana on June 30. Leave your sense of doubt at home and let yourself be mystified, thrilled and amazed.
9. Enjoy good vibes on the Beach and Boardwalk
Are you in need of a little vitamin sea? Atlantic City is home to some of the biggest, most beautiful beaches on the East Coast and accessing them won’t cost you a thing. You read that right. There are no beach tags required on Tropicana’s family-friendly shores. Build sand castles, ride some waves, and enjoy the best of everything summer has to offer. Sea la vie!
You can also tour the beautiful Atlantic City boardwalk by bike! Tropicana Atlantic City offers bike rentals with cruisers, tandems, children’s bikes and MORE. Safety helmets, trailers and baby seats are available for children and adults. Located at Iowa Avenue and the Boardwalk at Tropicana, you purchase a bike rental for just $9 an hour daily from 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon. For more information, contact 609-344-8008. Come on – you know you want to try it!
8. Indulge in non-stop family fun
You and your family can experience one of our family friendly shows, family style dining, arcade, indoor pool and MORE! The North Tower of Tropicana is the “it” place for families to get their fun on, together. The tower’s Family Fun Station offers an arcade filled with fun options like air hockey, basketball, skeeball and other games for all ages to enjoy. Discover a safe, fun environment where the entire family can hang out together, play arcade games, win prizes and have a great time! If you’re looking for something more low key, catch a movie at the IMAX Theatre at Tropicana.
7. Eat where fish is the dish
Seafood Week will be back again in 2018 with nineteen restaurants, eateries and bars offering up innovative specials that celebrate all-things-seafood. Come taste what’s cooking from hot spots like Carmine’s, RíRá Irish Pub, Olón, and Chickie’s & Pete’s Crab House & Sports Bar, June 17 – 23. Go fish!
6. Dive into fun
There is no shortage of pools at Tropicana Atlantic City. Whether you plan to swim morning laps, cool off with a quick afternoon dip, splash around with the kids, or party poolside into the night, Tropicana offers something for everyone with four unique swimming pools. Dive into the fun at the North Tower outdoor pool and Blue Parrot pool bar. Or choose the indoor pool and Tiki Bar on the sixth floor of the South Tower. The Oasis Pool on the ground level of the Chelsea Tower offers a family-friendly pool experience. And for grownup fun, join the wet set at Cabana Five Bar & Pool Deck — a rooftop pool with full-service bar, poolside dining, cabana rentals, and live entertainment on top of the Chelsea Tower.
5. Take in the sights and sounds after dark
The secret is out. The Multimedia Light & Sound Shows at Tropicana are among the best free things to do in Atlantic City. Starting at dusk every evening, join the fun crowd on the boardwalk in front of Tropicana for a variety of light shows with dazzling, high-resolution imagery and state-of-the-art concert-quality sound. We think you’ll agree that it’s de-LIGHT-ful.
4. Check out The Chelsea Tower
Feeling the itch to try something new? You’re in for MORE fun when you cross the Skybridge to The Chelsea Tower, where you’ll find amenities and destinations 100% worthy of exploring. Not to miss: Whiskey Five, a swanky bar featuring old fashioned cocktails and billiards; Chelsea Five Gastropub serving up amazing seafood, steak and chicken options with panoramic ocean views; and Gilchrist Restaurant, a breakfast and lunch joint that has been an Atlantic City institution since 1946. See you on the other side!
3. Enjoy a Taste of the Quarter
Great food for a great cause – are you in? More than 25 restaurants, bars and eateries have teamed up for the 11th annual Taste of The Quarter at Tropicana. It all takes place Monday, August 20th, 2018. For a $30 general admission ticket, you get to sample apps, main courses, desserts and drinks throughout The Quarter, with all proceeds benefitting the local United Way. Wear your stretchy pants.
