ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (October 26, 2009) – Jingle bells will be ringing, guests will be rockin’ around a tree and walking in a winter wonderland as Tropicana presents the Fifth Annual Holiday Spectacular. The Holiday Spectacular will commence on November 11 at 1:30 p.m. during the Official Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony.

The holiday season at Tropicana is a sight to see, hear and taste with indoor snowfall, great entertainment, restaurants and bars offering the perfect place to enjoy some holiday cheer. During the Tree Lighting Ceremony, Tropicana will collect toys, gift cards and other items for A.R.M.S. – Project Little Solidar. Additionally, Tropicana will present A.R.M.S with a donation during the ceremony.

It is certainly the most wonderful time of the year with exciting events and specials including:

• De-scrooge your family with Disney’s: A Christmas Carol in the IMAX Theatre, beginning November 6. Film is rated PG. Tickets are $15, and advance booking is recommended.
• Kick-off the holidays with the Fifth Annual Official Holiday Tree Lighting in Fiesta Plaza on November 11 at 1:30pm, featuring a sampling from Carmine’s and a guest appearance by Santa Claus.
• The classic holiday tale, Miracle on 34th Street – The Musical, will play in the Tropicana Showroom on select dates from November 14 – December 19, tickets are priced at $25.

• Grab your Santa suit and sneakers for the second Running of the Santas at Tropicana, December 12 featuring specials at Firewaters, Hooters, A Dam Good Sports Bar, Planet Rose and The Comedy Stop, with the official run at 10 p.m.

The free Holiday Musical Lightshow is a not-to-miss experience combining interactive lights with an inspiring array of beloved holiday musical selections from jazz to rock to international favorites.

Spectators will be held spellbound, as a rhythmic display of swirling, kaleidoscope patterns and glowing beams of light dance to the sounds of “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers,” “Joy to the World,” “Brazilian Sleigh Bells,” “Greensleeves” and “Nutcracker Suite” for a glittering five minutes and 12 seconds.

Tropicana’s Holiday Musical Light Show will begin immediately after the celebratory tree lighting in Fiesta Plaza in The Quarter at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2009. The Holiday Musical Lightshow will then be presented every hour on the hour, from noon until 10 p.m. Monday – Thursday and noon until midnight Friday - Sunday, throughout the holiday season.

The weather outside might be frightful, but at Tropicana it is 70 degrees and snowing! Beginning November 11, Tropicana’s indoor snow will fall daily from noon to midnight on 15 minute intervals. Tally that up throughout the season and you can expect over 100 feet of snow to fall in The Quarter!
